A Lost Locator Record is created when a locator has been lost. These locators can be lost for various reasons that are documented here. By using Lost Locator Records, you can easily see the history, billing implications, and last position of each Lost Locator at the time it was lost.
How do Lost Locator Records work?
How do Lost Locator Records work?
Lost Locator Records are similar to Sale Records!
When a vehicle is sold, a sale record is generated on the Sales page and a Sale Invoice ID is populated. The VIN is also removed from your inventory. When a sale is voided, the status of that sale record changes from “Complete” to “Void” and a Void Invoice ID is populated. Also, the VIN appears in your inventory again.
In a similar way, when a locator is lost, a lost record is generated on the Lost Records page and a Lost Invoice ID is populated. The Locator ID is removed from your inventory. When a locator is found, the status of the lost record changes from “Lost” to “Found” and a Found Invoice ID is populated. The Locator ID appears in your inventory again as well.
Lost Locator Records indicate if and when a locator has been lost, if and when a locator has been found, and why these actions were taken. The records also display the invoice information of any charges or refunds issued.
