Activating Theft Recovery via the Dealer Native App

How to Activate Theft Recovery for Your Vehicle (Mobile App)

You can enable Theft Recovery Mode through the mobile app to increase the locator’s reporting frequency if your vehicle is suspected to be stolen.


1. Verify Locator Pairing

Before activating Theft Recovery Mode, make sure your vehicle has a locator paired with it.

Theft Recovery Mode can only be enabled for vehicles actively paired with a locator, as this mode places the locator in an “active” state that reports its position more frequently.


2. Navigating to the Vehicle

From the landing page, go to your vehicles using one of the following paths:

  • Company → Location → Vehicle, or

  • Location → Vehicle

Select the specific vehicle that is paired with a locator to open its details view.


3. Enabling Theft Recovery Mode

  1. Scroll to the Theft Recovery Mode section.

  2. Tap “Enable Theft Recovery.”

  3. You’ll be taken to a confirmation screen where you can review or update the contact information that support will use to reach you for follow-up.

  4. Once confirmed, tap “Enable Theft Recovery” again to activate the mode.

After activation, the locator will begin reporting more frequently, allowing for better real-time tracking and faster recovery.


4. Viewing Theft Recovery Details

Once Theft Recovery Mode is active, the Theft Recovery section will display additional details, including:

  • Case Number – A unique identifier for the recovery case.

  • Access Code – Used for verification and case tracking.

  • Theft Recovery URL – A direct link to view or manage the recovery case online.

  • RecovR Hotline – A dedicated phone number to contact support for updates or assistance.
