Important Note:

Sections 1, 2, and 3 must be done by qualified personnel from the Kudelski IoT Team.

Section 4 can be delegated to a VAS partner or trained personnel at a customer location.

1- Location Preparation

  1. Create a Location under the Internal Support company. If your VAS already has a location created, please go to the next step.

  2. In the Location overview, edit the location settings

    1. Enable R4K.

    2. Set the location type as R&D/Test.

    3. Lot Size (optional)

    4. Please do not change the Data Collection Status

2- Hardware shipment

  1. Ship the number of R4K tags required and get the shipment log CSV file

  2. Import the Tags Shipment Logs

  3. Check that all R4K Tags are available in the location (in the Tag).

3- Provisiong the Demo Location

  1. if the Location does not have any vehicles created, create a list of vehicles and Import the random list of VINs via the bulk. (Please consider 1 tag per vehicle; e.g., if you have shipped 30 tags, create 30 vehicles)

  2. Based on the same list of VINs imported previously, you can create 1 key per vehicle by creating a CSV file

  3. Import the Keys CSV file thanks to the Bulk Create Key function.

  4. Check the list of keys is correctly created in the Keys menu.

3- Enable demo

Important Note: The demo is limited to demonstrating the RecovR for Keys functionalities in Car Owner mode. in order to enable these functionalities, the RecovR for Keys sales workflow shall be executed using the portal.

  1. Grab one of the RecovR for Key Tags

  2. The front of the tag can be pressed as a button.

  3. To activate a tag, press the button on the front of the tag three times.

  4. To confirm that a tag is activated, hold down the button on the front of the tag. The light on the sides should confirm the tag is activated. The LED color depends on the battery level (transition between red and green). If it is not green, the tag should be charged.

  5. Login to the RecovR portal and go to your location

  6. Go to the Vehicle Menu. Select one of the available VINs, Mark it as Sold, and select RecovR & Vehicle Sale.

  7. Select RecovR Tags only in the product menu and click Save.

  8. Set any value in the RecovR Tags Sales Price. And click on the search icon.

  9. In the search window, write the 6 digits of your RecovR Tag.

  10. Ensure the tag information is completed and the Sell RecovR Tag with Key is checked.

  11. Enter Customer Information and Complete Sale: Customer Information is collected to create a RecovR account for the person who will demonstrate the tag and use the mobile consumer native app. After entering this information and confirming the sale details, it can take 5 to 30 seconds to complete.

  12. Existing Customers/Users: If the person doing the demo already has a RecovR account, you can input the account email to add this vehicle & locator to the customer’s account. The only customer information shown to the dealer on the overview page is their name and email. Once the sale is made, they will receive an email.

  13. The User/Person who will do the demo shall follow the steps described in the Welcome to RecovR guide.
