What Are Automatic Location Transfers?
Automatic location transfers enable dealers to automate the transfer of vehicles & locators from one location to another based on their reported position. If a vehicle is offsite from its current location and reports a position that is within the zone of another location of this company, the system will automatically transfer the vehicle & locator to that new location if it remains in that location after 24 hours have passed.
Enabling Automated Transfers (Company Admins)
To enable automatic transfers, users need to navigate to the company overview page. There they will see a card called Automatic Location Transfer. Users can enable this feature for their company by clicking on the toggle button. It will apply to all locations in the company.
Zone Updates & Alerts for Automated Transfers
If a vehicle on your lot reports a position at a sibling location, you will see "Pending - Sibling Location Name" in the zone column. If the position continues to report during the 24-hour wait period, you will see "Zone Name - Sibling Location Name" in the zone column.
After a transfer takes place, users will see “Automatic Location Transfer” in the alerts column. This alert will appear when a vehicle/locator is transferred to a new location automatically. It will stay active for 7 days. After 7 days, it will be cleared.
Vehicle’s Automated Transfer Status & History
Dealers can view the status of a pending automated transfer on the vehicle item page if automated transfers are enabled.
Pending Automated Transfer Details:
Reported Position at New Location At: When the position placing a vehicle at a sibling location was reported
New Location (Will Transfer To): Name of new location the locator and vehicle will be transferred to after 24 hours of the position remaining at the sibling dealership location
Automated Transfer History:
Previous Location: If this vehicle/locator was added to this dealership from a sibling location due to an automated transfer, the location name is displayed here.
