To install a beacon, first, you'll need to activate the beacon then chose it's installation location.
Step 1: Activate the Beacon
Open the beacon by rotating the lid counter-clockwise.
Press the “push button” and hold for 3 seconds.
When the device is powered on you will see a blue light for 5 seconds
Then close the beacon by rotating the lid clockwise
Step 2: Install the Beacon
Next, you'll pick an ideal location to install the beacon. The beacon signal covers approximately 50 sqft. When choosing a location, you'll want to ensure the beacon has no physical objects near it interrupting its signal.
Recommended vertical height of beacon: 6.5 feet
Minimum distance between beacons: 65 feet
Place the beacon far from wireless routers or similar Bluetooth devices. This can interrupt the BLE signal of the beacon
Step 3: Assign the Beacon to an Indoor Zone
If you have not created your Floors or Zones, please review Getting Started with Location Tracking before moving on to this step.
Once you've created your zones, you'll want to assign Beacons to your indoor zones. To do this, head to the Beacons page in the Installation and Setup section. There, you can quickly and easily select which zone the Beacon is installed in using the dropdown in the zones column.
